General Goals for the Curriculum Web:
● To provide students with an opportunity to explore the historical context (through timelines, biographical searches, and vocabulary) of the literature of the Holocaust, particularly The Diary of Anne Frank.
● Students will learn more about the “faces” of the Holocaust to humanize the enormity of the 12 million people killed.
● Students will participate in building their own virtual memorial to Anne Frank.
● After reading examples of the poetry of this time and learning about the brave and heroic acts of the survivors, victims, and rescuers of the Holocaust, students will write their own poem about heroes and the strength of the human spirit.
